Society Golf in Ulster.

Society Golf in Ulster.

The fact that The British Open was recently held in Northern Ireland has firmly underpinned the region as one of the best areas for golf on the Island and it’s easy to see why it has become a playground for both international and domestic golfers. For societies, aspirational venues may be slightly off-budget and require an entirely different skillset so we have cast the net wider and sought out some incredible courses dotted throughout Ulster. With over 100 courses to choose from, including a testing back nine on the recently refurbished Farnham Estate Golf Club, a unique Wild Atlantic Way test from Donegal Golf Club, Christy O’Connor (junior & senior!) designed courses at Concra Wood Golf Club and the extremely popular Lough Erne Resort in County Fermanagh, it can be difficult to decide the best option for your society.

The golf course at Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort is a wonderful par 72 parkland spread over 500 acres of rolling countryside and dense woodland, with two quite contrasting nines – a gently challenging front nine exploring undulating meadows and a testing back nine through denser, more rugged woodland. Overall, Farnham Estate makes for an ideal venue for your golf society in 2022.
